Bell, Ewart John Charles Henry

Son of Thomas Bell and Sarah Grace Bell née Gooday of 88 Stanley Gardens Road, Teddington

Born 9th October 1920 at Eastleigh, Hampshire Educated at Stanley Road School, Teddington Married Pamela A.W. Haddock at Lambeth in 1941

Electrical Mechanic 5th Class (C/MX 98051), Royal Navy Served on H.M.S. Phoebe until it was attacked by a ‘U Boat’ off West Africa and beached on the coast of the Congo He died on 23rd October 1942, aged 22 years

Buried with many of his fellow crew members in Pointe Noire European Cemetery, The Congo (now The Republic of the Congo)

Listed on the Stanley Road School WW2 War Memorial
